Exploring New Places

It’s been a while since Erik & I explored something for the first time. Luckily, moving to South Carolina has supplied us with a new map where basically everything is unseen by us. I’ve been feeling uninspired by my digital cameras lately, so I’ve been having a lot of fun shooting off rolls of film through my little Yashica T4 Super. That being said, I recently got 4 rolls of film developed and I’m excited to share some of what I saw during the past few months!

Wedding Details

I’ve been so looking forward to making this post! I teased a lot about the little details Erik & I planned for our wedding throughout the last (nearly) 2 years, so it only seemed right to finally fill in the blanks. By now, it’s no secret that I enjoyed wedding planning and I sort of wanted to put some of our ideas out there to see if it can help anyone who’s currently planning for their big day as well. I also realize that not everyone finds this stuff interesting, so this will be the last wedding-centric post, I promise! We will soon be back to our regular scheduled programming. Until then, please enjoy these selected photographs taken by our wonderful photographer, Alexander…

Catch-Up: Life Update Edition

So much has happened since I last updated! Well, 2017 as a whole was super crazy for me, actually. I thought about it a few weeks ago… three surgeries, a wedding, quitting my job, traveling to Florida and South Carolina (multiple times), oh and moving 12+ hours away from everyone and everything I’ve ever known.

Catch-Up: Wedding Planning (Part 2) Edition

In my last post, I outlined my health throughout the past year of my life. This is a continuation of that same idea, except this time I get to talk about our wedding! The planning process has gone pretty smooth with only a few bumps along the way. Everybody involved has been so great to us – from our vendors to our bridal party and families. Without giving too much away, here’s an update of what’s been going on.

The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year

I love autumn so much. (If you know me, this is both obvious and an understatement.) Erik and I always go back and forth because he loves the winter and snow and I love pumpkins, cornstalks, mums, and…. not snow. What we can both agree on, though, is that we love it when summer ends and we love partaking in fall activities.

Wedding Planning (Part 1)

One way to complicate wedding planning is to pile health issues on top of it. Back in June and July of this year, I was really feeling the stress of having liver disease and what that meant for our wedding. Since hearing the great news that my liver seems to be behaving now, Erik & I have been able to focus on planning our big day. This will be the first of multiple blog posts that chronicle our planning process.

Under The Sea

Note: I’ve been struggling with how to word this blog post. I don’t want to come across as seeking charity – because I’m not at all. I also don’t want to diminish other people’s struggles with things they have going on in their lives. Seeing as this is my blog about my health and awareness of my health, I’m going to try and portray it as accurately as possible to how I am feeling towards my personal situation and what I’ve learned from it.

August has been really busy for me – lots of commitments on a very small budget (due to medical bills amongst other things). Nobody enjoys that split second when they realize they have all but $50 to their name, but it’s how you handle it from that moment forward that really counts. Continue Reading

‘Tis D.C.son!

In dealing with my liver issue, it’s been hard to keep busy and keep my mind off of it, which helped contribute to my lack of updates on here. So, our trip to Washington, D.C. two weekends ago was our first real outing in a long while. Speaking of D.C., is the title too punny? Yes? Probably? There’s a reason for it, I promise.

It’s Been A While

I’ve always said that I won’t force myself to put together a post on this blog if I didn’t feel like it was 100% natural. That’s still true, but that was not the case throughout this past month or so. I wanted to sit down and write almost every single day, but there were both good and bad things keeping me from doing so. Today, I’m going to tell you about those things. Beginning with the bad…

Easter Weekend

I hope everyone who celebrates Easter had a nice holiday weekend! Admittedly I’m not someone who is very religious, but I love Easter because it reminds me that Spring is on its way. All the pastel colors and bright sunny days get me super excited for comfortable weather and lighter jackets. I just wish that Spring weather could last all year.
